What happens on the handover day and how do I prepare?

On handover day ("tillträdesdag"), you, the seller, and often the agent ("mäklare") meet to sign the deed of sale ("köpebrev"). The bank disburses the loan to the seller and you get the keys. Before this, arrange final loan agreement ("låneavtal"), home insurance ("hemförsäkring"), and other insurance. Walk through the property with the seller to check everything matches the agreement and take meter readings for utilities. The seller should leave the property cleaned to normal standard. Document any deficiencies with photos if something seems wrong.
